The Casio Corporation was started by a Japanese engineer name Tadao Kashio, who specialised in fabrication Enovation. His first major creation was the yubiwa pipe, a cigarette finger ring that makes it possible to smoke a cigarette all the way down to its stub. Since Japan was facing a financial crises during World War II, cigarettes became a precious commodity, and there for rendering his invention a huge success.

In 1949 Kashio laid his eyes on an electric calculator at a trade show in Ginza Japan. Soon afterward Kashio set his path to build his own calculator. Most calculators at the time were mechanical and since Kashio has some electrical engineering knowledge he set out to build a state of the art calculator. In 1954 Kashio has build the first electro mechanical calculator using Solenoids with a one display window, considered to be the latest state of the art for its time. A few years later Kashio has created the first electrical portable calculator in 1957. Soon after that Casio started developing watches. Creating the first quartz crystal watches changing the perception of how people view watches forever.

Casio was innovating watches from there on adding features such as calculator watch, temperature, barometric pressure, different time zones, and much more. In 1980 Casio watches became an instant hit creating a frantic gadget industry where everyone wanted to have a Casio watch. The Casio legacy has continued to this day.
